Groom Expo — The Groomers Emergency Assistance Fund

By admin, 10 Sep 2017

Dear friends,

Groom Expo is right around the corner. The Groomers Emergency Assistance Fund is very excited to see all of you. Ileana, Judi, Mary, Milena, Jameson, Jennifer, Kristy, and I have many fundraisers and activities planned. We don’t want you to miss a thing!

Internet Social -— Please join us Thursday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 for the Internet Social. This is our biggest fundraiser. To find us, take the escalator upstairs to the trade show and head downstairs. You’ll find us there. We’ll be raffling off awesome prizes donated by our generous vendors. Snacks are free. A cash bar will be waiting to serve you a tasty adult beverage. It’s one big party with Milena and Jameson hosting the event. There will be tons of fun and many lucky winners so join us! You’ll get a chance to make new friends and say hello to friends you know on Social Media.

Participate Thursday night at the Social in the Tell Us A Joke Contest. Share your favorite joke at the Social to win free raffle tickets. You must be present at the Mingle to win.

GEAF is hosting a lunch raffle. Purchase raffle tickets at the Internet Social and at our booth. Make arrangements to have lunch on Sunday with a favorite pet stylist. It’s our treat! Winning tickets will be drawn Sunday at 11:00 at the booth. You must be present to win. Terri DiMarino, Mary Oquendo, Laura Civello Hearn, Mackenzie Murphy, Anne Francis, Victor Rosado Zamora, Suesan Watson, Lisa Leady, and myself are on board and ready to spend one-on-one time with you. Ask questions. Discuss your hopes and dreams. Every one of these professionals would love the opportunity to sit down, chat with you, and help you create the grooming business you’ve always wanted.

Visit our booth. We have so many goodies! Say hello! I will be at the booth on Friday and Saturday, Jennifer on Sunday. We have baskets and gifts to raffle and a Kissing Booth. Make a donation and treat yourself to a GEAF T-shirt, puppy or kitty cookie, or my hand crafted collar bows. Everyone that knows me knows how much I love to make bows! Stop by the booth Friday and Saturday between 3:00-5:00. Our talented Milena will be offering Henna sessions. We are located in the main lobby across from Frank Rowe.

Silent Auction – Friday and Saturday. If you have a new item that you no longer need or want, bring it to us. If you haven’t brought something from home and you want to participate pick something up at the show. We can add your donation to the Silent Auction. I will be accepting donations on Thursday night for Friday, Text me at 201.741.3063 to arrange pick up. On Friday drop your donations off at the booth for Saturday. All donations are appreciated. No item is too small. We will make sure it winds up in the hands of a groomer who needs it.

*We are accepting donations of tools and new unopened products. If something is gathering dust in your drawers or in your closet we want and need it. These items go into kits that are prepared for groomers to help them get back to work. If you are donating clippers, trimmers, and blades please make sure they are in good working order. The folks at Espree Animal Products have volunteered to haul the donations dropped off at Hershey back to Texas, since they are located in Dallas. This is very helpful. Thank you so much Espree!

The need is great now that we have seen the devastation from Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. The response from the grooming community had been overwhelming. The outpouring of love, dedication, generosity, energy, and support has been astounding. Our industry is truly a family. The Groomers Emergency Assistance Fund would like to personally thank each and every one of you. It does take a village.

See you at Groom Expo! ~Ellen Ehrlich
